University of South Florida (USF)

Founded in 1956, The University of South Florida (USF) is a leading public research university located in Tampa, Florida, USA. It was named to the top rank of research universities by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching in 2000.

The University of South Florida is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award degrees at the baccalaureate, master's, specialist, and doctoral levels. USF is a member of the Big East Athletic Conference.

- Ranked 63rd in the 2006 NSF survey of federal R&D expenditures in science and engineering.
