Largest Universities in India

The top largest universities in India include the University of Delhi, Andhra Pradesh Agricultural University, Lovely Professional University, Annamalai University, among others.

The University of Delhi is the largest in India and among the largest in the world. It provides undergraduate, postgraduate and research programmes, in liberal disciplines, in professions and in interdisciplinary and applied areas. The largest academic programmes of the University of Delhi are its undergraduate programmes. The University has one of the largest enrollment of foreign students among universities in India and this part of the world.

The Andhra Pradesh Agricultural University (APAU) is considered as one of the largest universities in India. The University is largely supported by the Government of Andhra Pradesh, and is also the recipient of funds from ICAR, Government of India and other National and International Agencies and industry.

Lovely Professional University (LPU) is India’s largest university in terms of students on a single campus. It is ranked among the top 100 India's Best Business Schools 2011 by investment magazine "Dalal Street Journal". LPU is a member of Association of Indian Universities (AIU), and  is recognized by Distance Education Council (DEC) for open and distance learning.

Annamalai University is one of the biggest universities in India. The University has Memorandum of Understanding with many foreign Universities on research collaboration and exchange of students and staff as well. All the programmes of study offered by the Directorate of Distance Education have the approval of the Distance Education Council, New Delhi.
