It was ranked 8th overall in the 2011 edition of the magazine's guide to “America's Best Colleges,” and 5th in the “Great Schools, Great Prices” category for best-value colleges in the Midwest.
- Recognized as one of the Best Midwestern Colleges by The Princeton Review (2011).
- Forbes.com has listed the university as one of America's Best Colleges (2010). It was ranked 289th overall and 9th in the state of Indiana. Huntington was ranked among other top Indiana schools, including Taylor University and Goshen College. The Center for College Affordability and Productivity, in conjunction with Forbes, compiled its college rankings using the following categories: student satisfaction, postgraduate success, student debt, four-year graduation rate and competitive awards from outside data sources, including the U.S. Department of Education, RateMyProfessor.com and Payscale.com.
