Top Regional Colleges in the North
United States Coast Guard Academy is ranked 1st nationally in the U.S. News & World Report's 2012 rankings of Best Regional Colleges – North, which includes institutions that focus on undergraduate education and offer a broad range of degree programs in liberal arts and professional fields such as business, education and the sciences. Cooper Union is ranked 2nd in this category, followed by United States Merchant Marine Academy in 3rd place nationally.
Messiah College is ranked highly on several lists, including 5th among “Best Regional Colleges in the North” and 6th among “Great Schools, Great Price.” It is also ranked among the “Best Undergraduate Engineering Programs,” a list comprised of nearly 200 colleges and universities recommended by their peers for their outstanding engineering program. Messiah is ranked 98th on this list.
U.S. News has again selected St. Francis College for its list of Best Regional Colleges in the North, moving the College six places higher than the previous ranking. It is also ranked the 4th Most Diverse Regional College in the North.
Lebanon Valley College (LVC) is ranked among the top three (at No. 3) in the North in the “Great Schools, Great Prices” category among “Best Regional Colleges” in the U.S. News 2012 edition of the book America's Best Colleges. In addition, LVC moved up to 6th overall among the 74 comparable institutions in its regional category.
Cazenovia College is rated 21st among the top tier regional colleges in the North, an area consisting of Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey, New York, and the New England states. It is also listed in the magazine's Top Ten Best Value regional colleges in the North.
