Top Universities in Finland 2011-2012

University of Helsinki is the top rated university in Finland, ranked 1st in Finland and 91st in the world, according to the Times Higher Education 2011-2012 world university rankings. A total of 5 Finnish universities ranked in the world's top 400, with 3 ranked in the range 301-350th globally: Aalto University, University of Eastern Finland, and University of Tampere.

In another international league table "QS World University Rankings 2011/12", University of Helsinki is rated No. 1 in Finland and 89th in the world. The ranking is based on factors such as academic peer reviews and the number of scientific publications.

University of Turku is ranked 224th in the international QS World University Rankings, making it the second-highest ranked Finnish university. Other Finnish universities who made it to the top 300 are the University of Helsinki (89th) and Aalto University (232nd).

The University of Helsinki is also ranked highly in the Academic Ranking of World Universities, rated as the 74th best university in the world in 2011. The ranking is produced by the Shanghai Jiao Tong University. It continues to be the highest ranked university in Finland. Other Finnish universities placed in the top 500 include the University of Turku and the University of Oulu (301–400th), and the University of Eastern Finland and the University of Jyväskylä (401–500th).
