Toshkent Moliya Instituti / Tashkent Financial institute is the top ranked institution in Uzbekistan, followed by Tashkent University of Information Technologies in 2nd place nationally and Westminster International University in Tashkent in 3rd place nationally, according to the Webometrics ranking of Top Colleges and Best Universities of Uzbekistan (July 2011).
Established in September 1991, Tashkent Financial Institute (TFI) is one of the key institutions in Central Asia, and is recognized among economic universities of Central Asia as a leading financial institution in the areas of Finance, Banking, Taxation, Insurance, Securities, Stock Exchange, Projects Financing, Auditing and Accounting. TFI has exchange agreements with foreign universities such as Texas A&M University, Sterling University, Moscow State University, Passaw University, etc. All TFI students are offered the opportunity to study abroad after completing their first year at the Institute.
Tashkent University of Information Technologies is the largest university in Uzbekistan. It was founded as the Tashkent Electro Technical Institute of Communication in 1955.
Westminster International University in Tashkent (WIUT) was founded in collaboration with the University of Westminster (UK) and "UMID" Foundation of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The University of Westminster validates the awards of WIUT and provides support for the development of staff, systems and management of the University.
