Top-up Degree in Psychology

Leading UK universities offering the top-up degree programmes in psychology:

University of Nottingham - It offers the Forensic Psychology top-up programme (DForenPsy) which is approved by the Health Professions Council (HPC) and accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS) and confers eligibility to apply for HPC registration and BPS chartered membership respectively. The aim of the programme is to allow postgraduate psychologists already holding a British Psychological Society (BPS) accredited MSc in Criminological/Forensic/Investigative Psychology to obtain a doctorate through applying their knowledge to practice with victims or offenders.

University of Plymouth - The BSc (Hons) Psychological Studies degree is a one year 'top up' programme and progression route for those who have already completed a total of 240 credits at Levels four and five in Psychology at other HE institutions recognised by the University of Plymouth. Research in the School of Psychology at the University of Plymouth was rated as 5 in the 2001 RAE, and in the 2008 RAE it submitted 34.5 staff, making it the 12th largest research School of Psychology in the UK.

Cardiff University - Cardiff University's School of Psychology offers experienced qualified educational psychologists the opportunity to 'top-up' their Master's degree by taking further examinations and lead to the Post-Qualification (Top-Up) Doctorate in Educational Psychology (DEdPsy) degree.

Teesside University - The PsyD Doctor of Psychology (Top-up) programme provides a unique opportunity for qualified applied practitioner psychologists to update their level of academic qualification to doctorate status. Candidates learn through lectures, small discussion groups and on-going individual supervision.
