Our Lady of the Lake College Profile
Our Lady of the Lake College (OLOL) is an independent Catholic institution located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, United States. The College joined the Association of Franciscan College and Universities (AFCU) in 2007.
Our Lady of the Lake College is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award associate, baccalaureate, and master's degrees. It is a member of the Louisiana Association of Independent Colleges and Universities.
The School of Nursing is fully approved by the Louisiana State Board of Nursing and holds accreditation from the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission, Inc. It was the first school in the South to revise its curriculum by shortening its program from three calendar years to 27 consecutive months.
The Clinical Laboratory Sciences Program is accredited by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences. The Physical Therapist Assisting Program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education of the American Physical Therapy Association. The Radiologic Technology Program is accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology and holds approval from the Louisiana State Radiologic Technology Board of Examiners. The Respiratory Therapy Program is accredited by the Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) in collaboration with the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs. The Surgical Technology Program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP).
Achievements:
- The College was named to the U.S. President's Honor Roll in recognition of its impressive community service activities in 2008 and 2009.
- In 2009 it received $801,447 of Federal funding for Scholarships for Disadvantaged Students, the most received by any institution in the State.
- The College and CRNA faculty were honored to receive a ten year accreditation in January 2009 by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs (accreditation can be awarded for periods of two to ten years).
- Named as the sole provider in the State of Louisiana to credential mandatory dementia training.
