Top Universities in Maryland

Johns Hopkins University (JHU) is the highest ranked National University in the U.S. state of Maryland, placed 15th in the country by the US News & World Report in 2009, followed by University of Maryland--College Park (53rd).

JHU is one of the world's best institutions, with very high worldwide rankings:
- ranked 13th globally (tied for 13th with Duke University) by THES 2008.
- rated 20th globally by SJTU's Academic Ranking of World Universities 2008.
- 24th among top 100 global universities by Newsweek.
