Macleans University Rankings 2013
The 2013 Maclean's University Rankings issue has been released. For the eighth consecutive year, McGill is ranked 1st in the medical-doctoral category, followed by UBC in 2nd place and Toronto in 3rd place.
The University of New Brunswick is placed 4th among Canada's 15 comprehensive universities in the 2013 edition of Maclean's annual university rankings. According to the survey, UNB's Libraries remain in top spot nationally in terms of the percentage of UNB's budget devoted to libraries and the Holdings Per Student category. When compared to the complete national list of 49 Canadian universities, UNB also saw significant increases in the Most Innovative University and Leaders of Tomorrow categories.
McMaster is ranked 6th among 15 Medical Doctoral universities in the 2013 rankings, which is the same as in 2012 and 2011. It is also ranked 3rd in Total Research Dollars.
The University of Lethbridge achieved a top 3 position in the Maclean's Magazine ranking of Canadian Universities, which is its highest ranking with Maclean's since the primarily undergraduate category was established in 1992. In addition, the U of L achieved its largest ranking gains from a rise in the percentage of overall budget spent on student services, library expenses, and the reputational survey and student awards indicators.
The University of Victoria has retained 2nd place for the third straight year in the comprehensive university category in the 22nd edition of the Maclean's rankings of Canadian universities. The University also scored well for its library expenses, acquisitions and holdings, amount of total research dollars and the percentage of its budget dedicated to student scholarships.
