QS Top 50 Universities Under 50

Hong Kong University of Science and Technology is ranked No. 1 in the QS Top 50 Under 50 ranking, an international comparison of the best universities in the world under the age of 50. Nanyang Technological University in Singapore is ranked 2nd, followed by the University of Warwick (UK) in 3rd place.

The University of Calgary is the top-ranked university in Canada under 50 years of age, according to the 2013 QS World University Rankings. The university also maintained its position as 2nd in North America, and moved up to 16th in the world, from 17th in 2012.

Macquarie University is again Australia's highest-ranking university in the QS Top 50 Under 50. Ranked 18th in the world, this is the second year in a row that Macquarie has been named Australia's best modern university.

The University of Newcastle is ranked 26th best in the world in the QS World University Rankings '50 under 50'. In addition, the University has moved up five places to No. 40 in the Times Higher Education independent ranking of the world's best universities under 50 years old (2013).
