It is tied for No. 2 spot with institutions from the east and west, namely West Point (the United States Military Academy in New York) and Cal Poly (California Polytechnic State University at San Luis Obispo). Overall, Kettering’s engineering programs were again ranked in the Top 25 in the category “Undergraduate Engineering schools, whose highest degree offered is a bachelor’s or master’s“.
- The Princeton Review has ranked Kettering as a "Best Midwestern College". It is one of 152 institutions receiving the Best in the Midwest designation in the 2011 Best Colleges: Region by Region school selections. Kettering has consistently been on the select list since 2004.
- Kettering University is ranked No. 1 for Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering and continues to be ranked in the Top 20 in the nation in the 2010 edition of "America's Best Colleges Guide". For the first time, Kettering’s Mechanical Engineering program is ranked No. 2 in the country.
