Ranking of best universities in Canada for 2017:

U.S. News Global University Rankings:
The University of Toronto was ranked No. 1 in Canada (21st globally) in the U.S. News and World Report Global University Rankings 2017, followed by the University of British Columbia in 2nd place nationally (31st globally).

QS World University Rankings:
McGill University is ranked No. 1 in Canada according to the QS World University Rankings 2016/17, followed by the University of Toronto (ranked 32nd worldwide — up two places from last year — out of the almost 1,000 universities surveyed). In terms of academic reputation alone, QS ranked U of T 15th worldwide with a score of 99.8 per cent. In addition to U of T, there were four Canadian universities in the top 100, including U of T, McGill University (30th), University of British Columbia (45th) and the University of Alberta (94th).

Times Higher Education:
The University of Toronto was ranked 22nd globally in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings for 2016-2017. Joining U of T in the top 100 were two other Canadian leading universities, including the University of British Columbia (36th) and McGill University (42nd).
