Top Universities in Papua New Guinea

Divine Word University is the top ranked university in Papua New Guinea, followed by Papua New Guinea University of Technology in 2nd place, according to the Webometrics ranking of Top Colleges and Best Universities of Papua New Guinea (July 2011).

Divine Word University (DWU) is a National University serving the society through its quality of research, teaching, learning and community service. It is established by an Act of Parliament and declared by PNG Government as an Agency of Higher Education through affiliation and amalgamation processes in the country. The University has the following faculties: Faculty of Arts; Faculty of Business and Informatics; Faculty of Health Sciences; Faculty of Education; Faculty of Flexible Learning; Faculty of Theology. The main objective of DWU is to become a vibrant Christian intellectual community and to continue developing into a first rate university.

The Papua New Guinea University of Technology was established by an Act of The House of Assembly in May 1965 as the Papua New Guinea Institute of Higher Technical Education. It is the only technological university in the South Pacific, outside Australia and New Zealand.
