Top Universities in Michigan

The University of Michigan, Ann Arbor (UMich, or Michigan) is a top public research university with high worldwide rankings:
- 21st in the world by SJTU Academic Ranking of World Universities 2008.
- 18th globally by THES Ranking of Top 200 Universities 2008.
- 11th in the Newsweek Ranking of top 100 global universities.
- 6th in the Webometrics Ranking of World Universities 2009.

Michigan State University (MSU) is another world's Top 100 institutions, placed 83rd globally by Shanghai Jiao Tong University in its Academic Ranking of World Universities 2008.
