Founded in 1785, The University of Georgia (UGA) is a top public research university located in Athens, Georgia, USA. It is America’s first state chartered university.

- According to the U.S. News & World Report (2008):
   - The MIS Department was ranked 9th in a survey of the best undergraduate business programs for information systems.
   - The MBA program is placed 49th overall and 23rd among public business schools.
   - Terry College's undergraduate program is placed 30th overall and 18th among public business schools.
   - The undergraduate program in real estate is rated 3rd in the nation.
   - The undergraduate insurance program is placed 2nd in the nation.
   - Graduate program in MIS is placed 15th nationally in the survey of the best information systems specialties.
   - The undergraduate program in accounting is placed 18th nationally in a reputational survey of business program specialties.

- Terry College Executive MBA program is ranked 22nd in the United States and 59th in the world (EMBA Ranking-Financial Times 2008).

- In the annual Survey of Accounting Professors by Public Accounting Report, the college’s Tull School of Accounting bachelor’s program was ranked 10th, the Ph.D. program was ranked 21st,  the master’s program was ranked 11th (2007).

- The Wall Street Journal included UGA among 16 “Hot Schools” that are drawing increased attention from students and families because of cost, safety and academic quality advantages.

- 1st in the country in research advertising based on the number of articles published in three leading U.S.-based advertising journals between 1997 and 2006, according to the Journal of Advertising.

- Forbes magazine ranked the Terry MBA 44th among the top U.S. business schools for return on investment (2005).

- Business Week ranked the MBA program among its Top 50 B-schools of 2004.
