Top 100 Social Media Colleges
StudentAdvisor.com has just released the list of “Top 100 Social Media Colleges”, with Harvard University rated 1st on the list, followed by Johns Hopkins University (2nd) and United States Military Academy (3rd). The University of Miami (UM) is ranked No. 8 nationally on this inaugural compilation. Other institutions made the top 10 list include: Carnegie Mellon University, University of Notre Dame, Stanford University, Columbia University, University of Florida and University of Oregon.
Roanoke College is also named to the Top 100 Social Media Colleges list, rated 22nd nationally and it is the only institution from Virginia in the top 25.
According to sponsor Avenue100 Media, the research started with a list of over 6,000 post-secondary degree-granting institutions in the United Sates for which they had compiled information for the StudentAdvisor site. Data collected for the rankings include total Facebook fan counts, total number and effectiveness of Twitter followers, among other factors.
