US News National University Rankings 2013

Harvard University and Princeton University were tied for the No. 1 spot in the U.S. News & World Report National University Rankings 2013, followed by Yale University in 3rd place nationally.

The University of Wisconsin-Madison was tied for 10th among public institutions and 41st among 281 national doctoral universities in U.S. News 2013 edition of "Best Colleges". UW-Madison's academic reputation, which takes into account perceptions from peers and high school counselors, ranked 26th overall and 6th among public institutions.

The University of Illinois was rated as the No. 13 public university and the No. 46 national university by U.S. News (2013). Moreover, the Times Higher Education World University Rankings list Illinois as 33rd in the world, 8th among American public universities in 2010.

Iowa State University was tied for 46th among 173 best national public universities and 101st overall in the "Best National Universities" category. Last year, Iowa State was ranked 44th among public universities and 97th among all national universities.

Arizona State University was ranked 139th among the more than 1,500 four-year colleges and universities, and was also named one of the top "2013 Up-and-Comers" among national universities in the 2013 Best Colleges guidebook by U.S. News & World Report.
