Guardian University Guide 2015

The University of Cambridge took the top spot in this year's Guardian University League Table 2015, ahead of Oxford (2nd place) and St Andrews (3rd place).

The University of Exeter is ranked 12th overall and secured top ten rankings in a number of subjects, including: Sport & Health Sciences (2nd), Medical Imaging (under Health Professions) (2nd), Engineering: materials and mineral (2nd), History (4th), Theology (4th), Classics (5th), Engineering: general (5th), Sociology (6th), Biosciences (7th), Medicine (8th), Mathematics (8th), Politics (8th), Psychology (8th), English (8th), and Philosophy (10th).

The University of Southampton has consolidated its position amongst the UK’s top 20 institutions by placing 19th overall in the Guardian University Guide. In addition, Southampton was placed in the top 10 in 12 subjects, including: Electrical & Electronic Engineering (3), Modern Languages & Linguistics (4), Civil Engineering (5), among others.

Cardiff University has moved up 3 places in this year’s Guardian league table. The University moved from 29th place in 2014 to 26th in 2015 and is now 14 places above its 40th spot in 2013. In addition, the University was ranked 16th for career prospects with a score of 77.9%.

The University of Derby successfully made it to the Top 50 of The Guardian University Guide 2015. Derby's rise of 29 places (from 79th to 50th place) is the second highest jump in the country.
